What is the Water Cycle?

• The water cycle (hydrologic cycle) is the continuous movement of water on, above, and below Earth’s surface.
• Water changes phase: liquid, vapor, and solid — and moves between pools like oceans, clouds, soil, ice, and groundwater.
• The Sun supplies the energy that drives most of the cycle.
